Carrie Grogan Abbott is the director of First-Year and Transfer Programs. In this role, Carrie directs the work of University units associated with welcoming, orienting, and supporting first-year and transfer students from entry into the University and throughout their first year. Bringing nearly 20 years’ experience in higher education, Carrie has served roles in study abroad, student activities, fraternity and sorority affairs, and facilities management. Originally from Bedford, NH, Carrie holds a master’s degree in Higher Education from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Ithaca College.


Wei Gao

Wei Gao is the Assistant Director of First-Year and Transfer Programs.  Wei has been in the field of education for more than two decades as a high school teacher, a community school organizer, as well as an international student advisor. She has also years of experience in organizing international travel and students study trips. Wei earned a bachelor’s degree in World History from Peking University in China before she came to the U.S as an international student and earned graduate degrees in History and Public Communication.

Natalie Pazmiño is a Program Coordinator in the Office of First-Year and Transfer Programs at Syracuse University. Originally from Erie, PA, Natalie earned a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Spanish from Westminster College and is pursuing her master’s degree in higher education here at Syracuse University.


Breanna LeCompte

Breanna LeCompte serves as a Graduate Assistant for the Office of First-Year and Transfer Programs, as well as for the Office of Residence Life. Prior to enrolling in the Higher Education M.S. program at Syracuse University, she attended the University of Delaware earning degrees in both Psychology and Women and Gender Studies. Breanna's work in the FYTP office will consist of implementing programs to support the First-Year Experience, and supporting students in their acclimation to Syracuse University.
